I set down the bag of towels and pillows onto the countertop with a sigh. I was more than happy about me and Colin moving into an apartment together this year instead of staying in those tiny dorms, but I had definitely underestimated the work. With school, I barely had any time to go shopping and right now our place was filled with just the basics, or in other words, it looked boring as h.ell. And completely white.
I slipped off my heels and walked over to the fridge, pulling out the carton of strawberries and bringing them with me along with my textbook to the kitchen table, promising myself that I would get through this chapter and some of my other work without getting distracted.
Just as I was getting settled, a few pages into my textbook, I heard the front door open and a few moments later my gorgeous boyfriend appeared in front of me. "Hi." I smiled up at him before taking a bite of my strawberry, my eyes running along his perfect body. "How was class?"
"Towels? I was just starting to get used to having you walk around naked while you dried off," He said, smirking at me as he looked into the bag of things I'd gotten for the place.
I laughed. "I did not walk around naked!"
He grinned wider. "That's because I never let you get that far."
"True..." I trailed off, my eyes following him as he walked towards me, bending down and pressing his lips against mine. God, he was such a good kisser. I pulled back. "You're distracting me from doing my work."
He glanced down at my book before looking back to me. "I think you need a break."
"I just opened the book instead." I grinned up at him, yanking on the bottom of his shirt, pulling his body between my legs.
His hand caressed my cheek, tucking my hair behind my ear before he leaned down and kissed me again. "You look stressed still... why don't we go test out our new bed?" He murmured against my lips, kissing them again and grinning against my lips.
I sighed. "You are going to be such a bad influence on me." Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be more excited about now living with him, but it was a lot harder to focus on homework when I had a gorgeous guy kissing me.
"Yeah?" He grinned even wider.
I nodded slowly, sliding my hands underneath his shirt, my work now the furthest thing from my mind. "Maybe moving in together was a bad idea...."
"Too bad we already signed a lease," He said, reaching for my waist before lifting me up and carrying me over his shoulder through our tiny place towards our room. I wiggled in his grip as he slid a hand up my leg to cup my a.ss. "You're stuck with me now gorgeous."
He kicked the door open, having to weave through most of the boxes of clothes that I had yet to unpack to get to the bed. "I'm okay with that," I replied, grinning as he laid me down in the middle of the bed, my hair fanning out around me.
"You better be." His hands slid up my sides, and
I wrinkled my nose. "It'd be too much of a hassle having to pack again. I guess you'll do."
He laughed, shaking his head and pushing up the bottom of my shirt past my belly button, kissing it. "Your words sting," He spoke, biting down on my stomach and making me moan softly.
"Do you want me to make you feel better?" I murmured, smirking as I pulled his head back to mine, pressing my lips softly against his. He deepened the kiss, his tongue slipping into my mouth and his hand slid under my shirt to cup my breast. God, he drove me crazy.
"How would you do that?" He pulled back, his gorgeous eyes locking with mine as he spoke.
"I have my ways," I answered, biting down on my lip. I shifted our bodies so that I was on top of him, pulling my shirt off slowly before unclasping my bra and tossing it to the side. "How was class baby?"
"Good..." He trailed off, his eyes on my body as I pushed off my skirt, my lacy thong now the only thing remaining on my body.
"Do you want me to make you dinner tonight?" I asked, pulling off his t-shirt and leaning down to press soft kisses against his chest.
He flipped us back over so that his perfect body was hovering over mine again. "We can just order in... I wouldn't want to set the place on fire already." He smirked.
"I'm not that bad!" I exclaimed, my eyes widening as he bent his head down, taking my breast in his mouth. "F.ck Colin."
He bit down on my n.ipple softly, making me moan as his lips trailed down my stomach. "Your body is perfect..." He trailed off, nipping at the skin right about my underwear and making me catch my breath. He was the sexiest man in the world.
"And you're still too dressed." I pouted.
"What's the hurry?" He asked, grinning as he teased me and making me want him so badly. Though really, when did I not?
I tangled my hands in his hair as he pressed kisses along my panty lines. My fingers played with his hair, yanking at it softly as a moan fell from my lips. "Tease," I whispered, arching my back at his touch as he continued pressing kisses against my clothed and soaking wet p.ssy.
"I just want to make you feel good Av," He said seriously... and god did he ever as he nibbled against my cl.t. Colin always knew exactly how to make me feel good.
"You are," I breathed out as I cupped and kneaded my breasts.
He groaned, his eyes on me as he pulled my panties down my legs with his teeth. His eyes stayed locked with mine as his hand grabbed at my thong once it reached my thighs. "You're going to kill me one day." He shook his head, smirking and kissing up my thighs. He was so f.cking hot.
"Why's that?" I grinned, pinching my nipples and moaning louder.
"I love when you touch yourself..." He trailed off in a groan. He had to be so hard by now.
"Well I wouldn't have to touch myself if I had you doing it instead..." I trailed off breathily, continuing to knead my breasts.
"I'd rather watch you instead." He smirked, his eyes shining as he looked up at me, unfortunately no longer teasing my p.ssy with his mouth. No longer doing anything except watch me, actually.
My hands left my breasts and slipped into his hair, pulling his head back up to mine gently. "F.ck me baby."
"Patience, Av," He teased, grinning at me before pressing his lips against mine.
I kissed him back, wrapping my legs around his waist and flipping us so that my body was now hovering above his. I sucked on his bottom lip before pulling away, faking a pout. "You're wearing too much clothing."
"You just love being on top, don't you?" He grinned in response.
"I like being in control," I told him seriously, bending down and biting on his neck before trailing kisses back towards his lips. I kissed him softly before pulling back, "And you're still wearing pants."
"Are you going to help me with that?"
"Yes, I'm a good girlfriend like that." I smirked, reaching between us and undoing his pants, moving to pull them down his body along with his boxers. I didn't hesitate, positioning myself before slowly easing down on his d.ck. Finally.
He groaned, bucking his hips up as I moved slowly. "You're so tight..."
My eyes flicked up from where our bodies met to look into his gorgeous eyes, grinning. "Yeah?" I asked, playing innocent.
His hands gripped my hips as he bucked up deeper inside of me, his d.ck still not all the way. "God yes... so f.cking tight..." He trailed off, groaning.
My hands slid up his chest as I leaned down, pressing a kiss against his lips. I teased him with chaste kisses as I rode him just as slow. "You're huge," I whispered seriously against his lips, moaning as he tangled a hand in my hair, keeping my lips pressed against his as he kissed me hard.
He bucked his hips up, burying his d.ck deep inside of me. He felt so f.cking good, oh my god. "F.ck." He broke the kiss, repeating the motion once again.
I moaned louder, pushing myself back into a sitting position and biting my lip as I sped up only slightly. "Oh my god Colin..." I breathed out, my nails digging into his chest.
He grabbed on of my wrists, bringing it to his mouth and biting down gently. He grinned up at me. "What?"
"Are you trying to be in control?"
"No," He grinned wider, shaking his head as he eyes fell to my breasts as they moved with my body. "I'm enjoying my view right now..."
I smirked, loving the way he looked at me. My hand moved down his chests towards my body as I sped up. "Good."
"Mhmm..." He trailed off, watching as I rubbed my cl.t. "F.ck."
"I've been aching for you all day," I moaned out, tossing my head back and pressing harder.
"You are so f.cking hot." He moved my hand away, rubbing his own thumb back and forth against my cl.t, pressing hard like I had been and making me call out his name again and again.
I moaned, feeling myself tighten against him once again as I came. "Colin!!!" I called out, his own orgasm just intensifying mine. God, he felt so good.
I continued riding him, slowing down as I grinned at him. "You're so hot Av."
"You are..." I murmured, leaning down to kiss him softly, lingering my lips against his. "Do you want to come shower with me?"
"I thought you had homework to do." He smirked, resting his head against the pillow as his hands slid down my back and cupped my a.ss.
"I want to shower with my sexy boyfriend instead," I told him, setting my hands against his chest as I pushed myself up, getting out of the bed and starting towards the bathroom. I looked over my shoulder. "Are you coming?"
I didn't wait for his answer, heading towards the bathroom. I turned on the shower, making it hot when I felt Colin's arm snake around my waist. He pressed his lips against my shoulder, biting down on my skin gently. I moaned softly, tilting my head to the side and allowing him to kiss up my neck. "I'm happy we moved into together."
"Why's that?" He asked, turning my body toward his before picking me up.
I wrapped my legs around him as he carried me into the shower, my back hitting the hot water. "Now I can f.ck you whenever I want."
He smirked. "Isn't that always?"
"Exactly."

"Hey," Gav said as I opened the door to my hotel room. I watched as his eyes ran along my body before he murmured, "Holy shi.t."
"What's wrong?" I asked, biting my lip and cocking my head to the side. I was pretty sure I knew exactly what he meant though.
"Nothing at all..." He trailed off, his eyes still scanning my body. God, the way he looked at me made me want him so badly.
"Are you sure?" I grinned, running my tongue over my lips before grabbing my clutch from the small table next to the door. As much as I was tempted to just rip off all his clothes and f.ck him the first place I could because of how sexy he looked right now, I was actually excited for this date. It had been a long time coming and I really couldn't wait anymore.
"Yes. You....you look incredible Cara."
I felt myself blush at his compliment, leaning into him and giving him a soft kiss before pulling back and shutting the door. "Thanks." We began to walk down the hall and he took his hand in mine, squeezing it lightly and making me smile even more. So much of this seemed so surreal, I never thought I would end up dating Gavin and I definitely never thought I would be doing so and actually be so f.cking happy with him. "You don't look so bad yourself..." I said, looking down at his perfect body once again. He was wearing a blazer and dark jeans, both of which fit him perfectly... and kind of made me want to f.ck him right this second.
"Not as good as you. Trust me." He smirked, leaning into my body as we got into the elevator, kissing me much harder this time... not that I had a problem.
I moaned softly against his kiss, but pushed him back, knowing that the elevator doors would open soon. And it wasn't that I didn't want people seeing us, but I wasn't sure I'd really want to stop kissing him if I didn't do it now. "Well anything you might think you're lacking in looks you certainly make up for in your kissing skills..." I trailed off, smirking as I leaned in and gave him a soft kiss, honestly unable to resist. In no way did I think his looks were lacking at all, but it was definitely true that he was an amazing kisser. I swear, his kisses were better than some sex I'd had. And I realized how insane that sounded.
"Yet you stopped me," He spoke, his arms wrapping tightly around my waist and pressing my body up against his. Ugh, how was I even supposed to get through an entire meal without f.cking him?!
I grinned, pulling back as the elevator opened into the hotel lobby. "If I kept kissing you, we'd get nowhere and you seemed to be all set on this date thing so I stopped before we got carried away."
He looked at me as I smirked, shaking his head and laughing. His arms wrapped around my waist as we headed towards the door. "Oh, so it was all for me?"
"Mhmm," I murmured, biting down on my bottom lip and nodding. "So, where are you taking me?"
"My favorite restaurant."
"How telling," I teased, looking up at him. "Does this restaurant have a name? What kind of food is it? Who's place is it closer to so I know where we're going after dinner so I can finally f.ck you?"
I watched Gavin's eyes widen and it made me smirk. I knew that it was driving him crazy waiting to finally have sex, but in my defense I'd totally go back to my hotel room right now and f.ck him if he wanted. "You're going to kill me Cara..."
I smirked as we walked outside to the parking lot, where Gav led me towards his car. "Well that doesn't give me anymore information."
He let out a breath, grinning as he shook his head. "Do you like Thai food?" He asked, coming up to the car.
We both got in and I buckled up before turning to him. "I love it." I grinned, his hand slipping into mine again and making me smile. During my time in Hollywood it was kind of hard to ignore the countless tabloid pictures of the one and only Gavin Coopers with a different girl every night, but I couldn't think of a single one where they were holding hands. Maybe it wasn't really that big of a deal, but to me it kind of was.
"Good." He squeezed my hand, pulling out of the hotel parking lot. "Hey can I ask you something?"
I turned towards him, nodding. "Of course."
“….did I hurt your relationship with your sister?”
I blinked, taken aback by his serious question. "What?"
He turned a corner, swallowing thickly. “Ari and her sister don’t get alone either. Now in Ari’s defense her sister is an evil bit.ch…..but that doesn’t mean she’s not her family…..I don’t know I see how much it hurts Ar…..If I had a family I think I’d do anything to be good with them.”
“Gavin whatever happened between us? Was her fault. Not yours," I told him seriously, not wanting him to feel like he hurt my relationship with Sofia because that wasn't the case at all. She had f.cked up by not telling me what happened between her and Tom. Plus, we were already talking again and things were going back to normal. Also, he had just sounded really really adorable.
“Well…..you shouldn’t stay mad at her for too long is all. You’d regret it.”
I smiled at how much he seemed to care as we turned into the restaurant. "Don't worry baby. I never stay mad at anyone for too long."
He backed into a parking space on the street near a restaurant that I'd never heard of. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting, and clearly Gavin had read that on my face as I turned to him. "Hey do you want five stars and valet parking or do you want good food?"
I grinned at him. "I just want you," I said softly, meaning it completely.
“I'm already yours," He answered, squeezing my hand again before pulling away to get out of the car. God, I liked him so much...
Gavin was at my side opening my door before I even had the chance to, making me grin as I got out and cuddled up against him. His arm was wrapped tight around my shoulder as we headed towards the restaurant, which might not have been a well know spot, but was definitely packed. "You're being super cute tonight baby..."
"Me?! No way," He said, but a smile was on his face.
I stopped walking right before we walked inside, both of us standing right outside the restaurant's doors. I turned so that I was facing him better and looked into his gorgeous eyes. "I'm so lucky..."
Gav reached out and pushed my hair back behind my ear, kissing me softly but looking kind of uncomfortable, which I really hoped wasn't due to the fact that he seemed to to think I deserved so much better than him or something. He didn't realize how amazing he really was, which was surprising considering how cocky he had been when we'd first started talking. "Are you trying to distract me from actually going into the restaurant? I thought you were finally ready to go out with me in public," He joked.
"I'm more than ready for every single person to see us together," I said more seriously. I was cautious before, wanting to be sure that we were going to work out before I risked taking a relationship public that could end up with me labeled as a cheater. I knew Gavin didn't agree, but I don't think he really understood either. I wasn't some huge Hollywood star and my reputation was really important right now. But I was more than serious about us and I was at the point where I wanted people to know about us.
"Good," He answered simply, both of us starting towards the restaurant again. Gav gave his name to the hostess, who clearly recognized him and was trying not to show it as she led us to our table. She DEFINITELY noticed the fact that we were holding hands though and I was sure that before even left the restaurant she would be calling some gossip company to tell them the details.
I looked down at my menu, trying to pay attention but feeling Gavin's eyes on me the whole time. I looked up at him and bit my lip. "What are you looking at?"
"Nothing..." He trailed off, a sexy smirk on his face that may have made me a little wet. I definitely had the hottest boyfriend ever.
I stood up from my seat and moved to his, sitting on his lap and wrapping my arm around his neck, leaning down to press a hard kiss against his lips. When I was around him, I felt like I always wanted to be touching him. I pulled back after what could have been seconds or minutes.. I honestly didn't know. "Was that a little inappropriate?" I asked quietly, a blush forming on my cheeks. I would usually never do this... but everything was so different with Gavin. Everything.
"I don't care," He said, leaning in to kiss me again. Ugh, I swear his kisses drove me crazy. He drove me crazy.
"We're going to be on every tabloid tomorrow." And for the first time ever, I honestly didn't care at all. It was only about us.
He smirked, shaking his head. "I don't care about that either……though if that guy with the cell phone is taking our picture and not just holding it up awkwardly? I’d say we’ll be on the internet in the next 20 minutes.”
“I don’t care either…..” I said seriously, pressing my lips against his softly before unfortunately having to slide back into my seat, grabbing his hand. "I just want to be with you."
He grinned at me. “See the headlines were going to be “Playboy Gavin Coopers is at it again” but if you keep saying mushy stuff like that I'm going to lose my bad boy rep," He teased, but I shrugged, not really thinking of him as that playboy that I used to consider him as anymore. He had never been that way with me... except maybe the first time we'd met.
“You’re not really all that much of a bad boy. You’re kind of a softie.”
He raised a brow, looking back at me as I bit my lip and tried not to grin. “A softie huh?”
I nodded. “Well…not so much when I'm grinding against your lap…..but yeah," I said, biting my lip for a very different reason this time.
“We should have just stayed at your hotel room….” He trailed off and I couldn't agree more.
“I agree," I said seriously. “Too late now though….”
“You’ll just have to enjoy the delicious food. Such a disappointment," He told me, teasing me once again as I grinned widely.
"There could be worse things... and worse company," I said, fully accepting that I was being so cheesy. It was just- I was so happy with Gav, happier than I had been in awhile, and I couldn't help but revel in that.
He smiled at me before someone cleared their throat, drawing both of our attention's to the waitress standing above us... who was totally star-struck and oggling my boyfriend. "Are you Gavin Coopers?" She asked, and I'd probably have thought she was a fan if it wasn't for her uniform. Didn't they teach the waiters how to be professional?
He turned his smile towards the young waiter. "I am. Are you our waitress?"
At that she seemed to get a little flustered, a blush creeping up her cheeks as she stuttered her way through explaining the wine list and then taking our order. It would have been cute if it wasn't for the fact that it was because of my boyfriend. She walked away, not before gushing at Gavin a little more, and I turned towards him. "Is this what it's going to be like being your girlfriend?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"I'm talking about the fact that our waitress was pretty much falling onto your lap and completely ignored me," I pointed out which I'm sure he had to have realized. He was a guy and she was attractive... and extremely blatant.
He laughed. "That's no fair though because since we've gotten here at least four guys have checked you out. Also, the jealous look on your face right now is really sexy so I kind of can't even blame the guys for checking you out."
I tried to keep a serious face as I protested, "I'm not jealous!"
"No?" He asked, raising a brow.
I shook my head. "No, because I'm the one who gets to f.ck you tonight," I said with a smirk on my face, but I was dead serious.
"Oh do you?" He smirked.
I nodded, taking a sip of my drink. "Mmhm." I bit down on my lip.
“I don’t know Cara……this is a first date. What kind of guy do you think I am?” He smirked and I rolled my eyes, knowing exactly what kind of guy he was and it definitely wasn't the kind that waited three dates to have sex. But his eyes widened further. "I'm serious! I'm pretty positive there's a three date rule for that kind of thing...."
I smirked, crossing my legs and causing my skirt to ride up. "Three dates huh?" I asked, my voice soft as I ran my foot against his pant leg as I watched his eyes admire my bare legs.
“That’s what I hear…..”
I licked my lips slowly as his eyes came back to my face. "Well then I guess I'll just have to seduce you," I said simply as the waiter brought our food to the table, eyeing up Gavin once again. B.tch.
"How would you do that?" He asked, my eyes still on the waitress until she was completely out of site.
"Not by taking off my bra that's for sure," I said, still thinking about the girl who seemed to be doing everything she could to get his attention.
He raised his brow. “I think the taking your bra off thing would probably work actually…..”
I smirked, looking back to him. “You honestly didn’t notice our waitresses boobs were practically on display just then?”
He blinked, seeming genuine when he spoke, "I don't think I was looking at her." The fact that he seemed to only have eyes for me? It was incredibly sexy.
I let out a breath, honestly not even caring about the waitress anymore, I just wanted to be with Gavin. Alone. Sans-clothes. "Take me home."
"Are you okay?" He asked, his eyes wide with concern. "Is the food okay?"
“It’s fuc.king delicious but all I can think about is getting you undressed so I can lick you all over," I told him, completely serious.
He stared at me for a second before raising his hand. "Check!"
I smirked at him as the waitress came over. "Is everything okay?"
Gav nodded, his eyes staying locked on mine. "Fine...we just have somewhere we need to be. Can we just get the check please?"
"Sure," She said, her brows furrowed in confusion. "Would you like your food wrapped up or-"
"Just the check," I cut her off with a smile. God, I wanted Gavin so bad... why did I make us wait so long again?
She walked off to quickly get us the check and I grinned at Gav. "What happened to the three date rule?"
"I realized how stupid it was," He told me, pulling cash from his wallet and setting it in the check that the waiter silently set down. "Let's go."
I laughed at his sudden eagerness as we got up and he took my hand, starting towards the exit. I certainly didn't mind though. My mind raced with the million things I wanted to do to him just as my phone started ringing in my bag. Sh.t. "Hello?" I picked up.
"Carolyn? Honey, there's been an accident..." My moms voice wavered on the other side of the phone. It almost sounded like she was crying.
"What?" I questioned, confused. What did she mean an accident?
"Is everything okay?" Gav asked me but I didn't answer, straining to hear my mother's voice on the other end.
"Sofia's been in a car accident and we're at the hospital now. It's bad Cara..." She let out a sob as my hand flew up to my mouth and my mind raced.
"Mom, I'm going to come there, okay? I'll try to book a flight as soon as possible and then I'll call you. Let me know if there's any update," I said, not even thinking. I just knew I had to be there. It didn't matter that me and my sister were still kind of fighting. None of that mattered. I hung up the phone, immediately starting to dial my assistant's number so she could book me a flight. "Cara... what's going on??" Gav questioned beside me. Honestly, I had completely forgotten where we were.
"My sister was in a car accident and she's in the hospital. I have to go to Miami. Now," I said seriously. Sure, tonight had been amazing, but my family always came first.
"Cara, just breathe for a second...maybe you don't need to go all the way there. She might be okay. You might just want to wait," He spoke calmly, setting his hand against my arm and making me realize I was shaking.
"I have to go. This is my sister Gav and she's in the hospital," I told him. I had to go to Miami, there was no other choice.
And the sun will catch our hope, and I want to ask the question, can we go home tonight? [TBM]

I lifted my arms above my head before bending down and touching my toes with them, continuing to stretch. Part of me was doing it to genuinely stretch, but for the most part I was just hoping to distract Colin into forgetting about dinner with my parents. I'd been successful twice already, and I didn't think it'd kill me to try for a third time. I moved to the ground, pushing my a.ss up, not even really sure what I was stretching at this point, just that Colin's eyes were on my a.ss right now and he definitely seemed to be enjoying his view.
"Do you think you could spot me real quick?" I asked, tossing my head over my shoulder and looking towards him.
He cocked his head to the side, lifting a brow before his eyes blatantly dropped to my a.ss. "I see what you're doing here," He said, a sexy smirk on his lips, running his fingertips down my spine before slapping my a.ss firmly. Ugh, he was so sexy.
"Colin!" I exclaimed, moving to sit down on the floor before shooting him an innocent look and playing dumb as I smiled, bringing my legs up under my body. "What am I doing?"
"Distracting me," He said seriously, and it was clearly working as his eyes landed on my breasts which were currently braless.
"How?" I asked, leaning forward and purposely pushing my boobs together.
He grinned slowly, shaking his head. "We're not canceling again."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly, still pretending like I was clueless.
"No?" He smirked, watching me as I streched each of my arms across my chest.
I bit my lip, glancing towards him once again. "Nope... Do you want to join me in the shower before dinner?" I asked, completely serious about that request. Even if we did have to go to dinner, it wouldn't be terrible to shower together before, right?"
He got down on both knees, hovering his body over mine as I laid down on my back. His hand slid up my thigh, along my hips, and stopping to cup my breast as I drew in a breath before he lowered his head to kiss me hard. God, he was so amazing. "No shower," He said in a hushed tone, pushing up the bottom of my shirt to take my breast in his mouth, sucking on my hard nipple.
"No dinner?" I retorted, lifting my hips up to meet his and moaning as he captured the nipple between his teeth, giving it a tug that just made me moan louder. If he really didn't plan on f.cking me, then he was going to have to deal with a very sexually frustrated girlfriend during dinner. And I'd definitely be teasing him all night long.
His hand moved back down between my thighs, pressing them against the ground before rubbing my p.ssy through the workout shorts I was wearing. "Dinner still," He answered, groaning himself as his fingers found their way into my shorts, feeling how wet for him I was.
"Please baby," I whispered, giving him a look that always broke him. Honestly, I didn't even care about skipping dinner now as much as I did just f.cking him.
"Please what?" He asked, pulling his hand from my shorts and toying with the waist band, seeming to play with the idea of taking them off before someone knocked on the door. "It's probably just room service," I said quickly, my voice breathy as I started to want him so badly. He propped himself up on both elbows, a gorgeous grin on his face as he looked at me. "We're busy. Come back in an hour."
"Avia?" A voice that I recognized instantly called back, completely throwing me off.
"Oh my god," I said instantly. What was my mom doing here already?! "Colin, you have to answer the door. I need to get dressed. Oh my god," I rushed out, making sure to be quiet as I slipped out from under him, not even thinking about sex anymore as I tried to find something appropriate to wear. I didn't know what it was, but something about my family meeting Colin freaked me out so much and I felt like everything needed to be perfect. They both just meant so much to me and I couldn't imagine what would happen if neither of them liked each other. Most importantly, I needed my brother to like Colin and something told me that wouldn't happen.
"Wait... Av-" Colin began, but I rushed into the bathroom, closing the door behind me and locking it. I quickly began getting dressed, listening as Colin answered the door though I couldn't hear anything they were saying. F.ck, what if it wasn't just my mom or even just my parents but my brother and his wife too?! Why were they so early? And why did my hair and makeup look so bad? I changed as fast as I could before pulling my hair into a bun and putting on some eyeliner, knowing that my mom would probably still not approve of my appearance.
Before I got out of the bathroom I pressed my ear against the door, trying to hear what any of them were saying and who exactly was there, but coming up with nothing on both ends. I took a deep breath, preparing myself for what I couldn't help but think was a night that was going to go terribly wrong for some reason or another. I headed out of the bathroom, running my hand over a wrinkle in my dress that was probably due to the fact that I had picked it up off the closet floor in my room. I walked into the living room where sure enough, my entire family was sitting, super b.tch sister-in-law looking as perfect as always included. "Sorry, I had to change... how are you guys?" I asked, putting on my fakest smile as my eyes tried to assess the situation. I moved towards the couch opposite from everyone else where Colin was sitting alone, taking a seat beside him. "I thought we had agreed to dinner at seven... it's only six now."
My mom laughed. "Seven? Avia, I told you from the start that it was six. I even called you today to remind you. I left a voicemail honey." I didn't remember it originally being at six, but she had called me today and I had ignored the call, trying to not think about the impending dinner. Now I guess it would have benefited me to pick up.
"Oh, sorry," I just murmured, feeling the awkwardness hanging in the air. "So I guess you guys have already been introduced to Colin?" I asked, glancing towards my brother who was just looking down at his phone, Kate practically sitting on top of him she was so close and her t.ts nearly pouring out of her dress. For christs sake, this was a family dinner.. was that really necessary?
"Yes, he answered the door for us. But I remembered him perfectly from the first time you introduced us," My mom said, smiling as she referred to the awkward first meeting my parents and Colin had.
I wondered for a second why my mom was the only one talking but finally my brother said something. "So you're from DC too, Av said?"
"I am," He answered simply, nodding as his hand slipped into mine, caressing it with my thumb, making me wonder if it was clear that I was nervous. "Born and raised."
"Nice," My brother spoke, smiling slightly before going back to whatever he was doing on his phone. I sighed inwardly as I tensed up, frustrated that my brother didn't seem to have any interest in getting to know Colin. I mean, I had at least tried at first with Kate before deciding I hated her and I had told him how much Colin meant to me.
Colin turned to me and smiled, leaning in to press a kiss against my forehead and I tried to relax, knowing he was trying.
"So dinner?" Kate broke the silence. "Are we canceling or..."
My my mom stood up, looking around the hotel room and showing her disapproval with the place, which I didn't necessarily love either. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't like Colin or I were loaded with cash and I didn't think Colin would have been comfortable if my parents had paid for some of the place, which I'm sure they would have been willing to do. "Dinner sound lovely," She said, a forced smile tight on her lips. "Is everyone ready? Nolan, dear, please put your phone away."
"Sorry. Business," He answered with a sheepish grin, shoving the phone into his jacket pocket. "How's school? You aren't still seeing Mark around, are you?"
I parted my lips, feeling Colin's eyes on me as I tensed up again. I knew my brother probably had the best intentions in asking, but did he have to bring up the one uncomfortable part in Colin and I's relationship? Because even know, months after it has happened, we still didn't agree on what I should have done about it. What Colin didn't get though was that it wasn't up to him what happened.
"Mark goes to your school?" Kate quirked a brow.
"Mark and Nolan used to be friends in high school," My mom informed Colin, and I just stayed silent, not having anything to really say.
Instead I stood up, loosening the grip I had on Colin's hand. "We should get going. We must have already missed our reservations."
"Surely there's a restaurant downstairs." My dad shrugged, never really caring about much, whereas my mother needed everything to be a perfect plan. Honestly, I was more like my mom.
"Here, Michael?" My mom glanced to my dad, her nose wrinkling in disgust. I knew that I was lucky to have grown up so privileged and wealthy, but sometimes it was frustrating that my mom needed to have the best with everything. Sure, the restaurant we were supposed to go to was probably much better, but wasn't who you were with more important than where you were?
"Colin and I have been there before, it's not bad."
"Then that sounds like a plan," My dad said, getting up and already starting to the door, deciding the plans for everyone. Everyone followed behind him wordlessly out towards the elevator, Colin's hand tightening around mine.
I looked towards him and smiled as my dad pressed the elevator button. "I love you," I murmured, leaning in and pressing a light kiss against his lips, my brother watching us from the corner of my eye. I pulled back and looked to him, where he was now saying something into Kate's ear. "Have you been busy with work Nolan?"
He looked back towards me and shrugged. "You could say that. I just have a difficult client who's taking up a lot of my time."
"I told you I'd take the case for you if you wanted me to," My dad called from the elevator as we followed him and my mom inside of it.
I silently pressed the tenth floor button, which was where the restaurant was located. "Maybe you should give your dad the case... we could go away for a week or something and just take a break. It's been so long since we've gone away somewhere," Kate said, tugging on Nolan's arm as if he was her dad who she was begging to get some toy from or something. Ugh.
"I want the case."
I sighed out loud, regretting bringing up the topic of work and thankful that we were now at the restaurant. My mom went up to the hostess, telling her how many of us there were and then actually pointing out a certain place where she wanted to sit, practically bickering with the hostess when she protested that she didn't think it was possible. My mom got her way though, and we were lead to the private table my mom wanted, my dad and brother taking seats at both of the heads of the table, Colin and I sitting beside each other. "What are you studying again, Colin? I know Avia told me, but it slipped my mind," My mom said after ordering a bottle of pinot noir for the table.
"Child development," He said and I prayed to god he didn't notice my mom cringe.
"What do you plan on doing with that?" She asked, widening her eyes and blinking at him as if she just didn't understand.
I leaned my body into Colin's, smiling up at him and hoping that he wouldn't be offended. "Colin wants to teach. He mentors children... he's really great with kids actually."
Colin grinned "Thanks baby," He said, pressing a quick kiss against my lips.
"Teaching?" My mom interrupted, setting her napkin over her lap, her eyes still locked on his, not letting up her questioning. And I thought my mom would be the easy one. "Have you put any thought into becoming a professor? Nolan went to Harvard and I'm sure that we could-"
"He wants to teach kids, mother," I cut in before she could offer him her charity. Maybe she had good intentions but that was totally not the way it was coming off.
Colin nodded. "I've considered teaching anthro, but it would all be text book and boring."
Someone at the table snorted as my dad cut in. "Avia is majoring in anthropology, is there something wrong with that?" He asked as I gave Colin's hand a reassuring squeeze, hoping that my family wasn't offending him once again.
"No." He shook his head. "I've taken the course. I TA in it and that's how I met your daughter," He added with a smile. "I want to teach history. It fascinates me."
I grinned up at my gorgeous boyfriend. "And I'm sure you'll be amazing at it."
The waiter came at this time, pouring the wine into everyone's glasses except for Kate, who denied it. She set the bottle on the table before asking for everyone's orders, going around the table person by person as I took a generous sip of wine.
When she left, my mom turned to Colin. "Well it's very nice to hear that you have a passion for something," My mom said, smiling graciously and seeming to put an end to the conversation as everyone fell silent.
I bit down on my lip, trying to figure out how this was going so wrong. When I looked at Colin, I couldn't find a single flaw, yet nearly the entire time it seemed that my whole family was focusing on every single thing they didn't like about him. I wanted to say that it didn't make sense to me but in reality the night had just turned out exactly how I thought it would. Colin came from a completely different world than my family, of course they wouldn't mix. But I wasn't giving up.
I looked up from where I had zoned out, thinking about what had transpired so far, and saw that my mom and Kate were talking about something and my dad and Colin seemed to be talking about sports teams. Well, at least they were talking at all I guess.
I took the chance to lean towards my brother, keeping my voice low so Colin beside me wouldn't overhear, "Happy to see you're putting in an effort."
A sigh escaped his lips and he looked up at me with a tired expression as he tucked his phone back into his jacket pocket. "I'm sorry Av, I'm stressed about this client and I'm letting it get to me when I shouldn't."
The frown that was on my face dropped and now I just felt bad for ragging on him. "Oh, I'm sorry. But you're amazing at what you do, you have no reason to stress. And I want you to get to know Colin. I told you how important he is to me."
A small smile formed on his lips. "I won't touch my phone for the rest of dinner, promise." I smiled back, happy now as my brother leaned forward, listening to my dad and boyfriend talk about the redskins. "Hey, maybe if you come back with Av sometime we can catch a game," Nolan jumped into the conversation, making the smile on my face widen even more.
Colin looked towards my brother. "Yeah? That'd be cool."
"Are girls allowed?" I smirked, looking up at him.
"Since when do you like football?" He nudged me, grinning.
I wrinkled my nose at him. "Since my boyfriend changed my mind on the sport... I bet he'd look really hot in his old uniform too," I said, the picture of him coming up in my mind. I bet he'd look so sexy... ugh.
Nolan cleared his throat. "Av used to play with me as a kid. There was nothing girly about her. She even threw punches harder than any guy I knew."
"That's not true." I laughed, shaking my head. I did used to be pretty tough though, but I'm pretty sure I'd never punched a single person/
"Remind me to never piss you off." Colin smirked, looking so gorgeous that I had to lean in and press a kiss against his lips softly.
"You haven't." I grinned. "Yet."
He smiled at me. "I hate seeing you mad," He said seriously as I looked into his gorgeous eyes and thought about what had happened between us with Mark. It wasn't an easy time by any means, but when it came down to it he had been there for me the whole time and there was no way that he had pissed me off.
"You two are worse than me and Kate." Nolan laughed.
"It's Colin," I smirked up at my boyfriend from the corner of my eye. "He's a total sap."
He grinned, shrugging. "Guilty."

I waited patiently outside of Amelia's trailer as she changed into her clothes for our date tonight, actually feeling nervous. Normally I was completely fine with girls, but it was so different with her. I mean, we hadn't exactly had the best start and I knew that it was going to take a lot more to impress her than some other girl. But filming for our movie only had four days of filming left and I didn't want that to be the last of us, so I was going to try to make an impression on her as much as I could.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," She said, coming out of her trailer and pulling me away from my own thoughts.
I turned towards her, my eyes running along her body. "You look gorgeous," I told Amelia, though I was pretty sure that even that was an understatement. I mean, she looked absolutely perfect in a tight dress that flattered her every curve.
She smiled, only looking more gorgeous as we headed towards the parking lot where my car was. "Thanks. Don't tell, but I totally stole the dress from my wardrobe for the movie."
I laughed. "I think your secret is safe with me."
"So where are you taking me?" She asked, glancing towards me.
I smirked. "It's a surprise."
"That's no fair!"
"Hey, I told you it'd be the best date you ever went on, right? So just trust me," I said, grinning as I pulled open the passenger side door for her as we came up to my car.
"Such a gentleman." She winked at me before sliding into the front seat. I closed the door behind her and jogged to my side, getting into the car. "But this better be the best date ever, otherwise the secret would have been for nothing."
I laughed. "I promise."
“Good… by the way, nice car," She told me with a smile as I pulled out of the lot and started down the highway.
"Thanks, I'm actor, if you hadn't heard," I joked, never really feeling comfortable when people brought up the money thing. To me, getting such an amazing salary was just an added plus to my job and for some reason, money had always made me feel uncomfortable. I did love my car though, and I knew I'd never be able to have it if it wasn't for my job.
"Really? I've never seen you in anything," She said, playing along.
“I’ve done a few movies here and there, but the biggest movie I’m starring in right now with this really hot girl. I think the movie’s going to be pretty big.” I smirked at her.
She giggled. "If she's that hot, the movie is going to be really good."
"She's a pretty good actress, I mean aside from all the hotness," I shrugged, joking with her though I was completely serious. She was an amazing actress and she was completely stunning.
"Well, she says thank you."
I looked over and grinned at her. "I mean it Amelia..."
She nodded. "I know." She smiled before leaning over and giving me a kiss on the cheek. "No you better hurry up, because I'm starving."
"We're almost there," I told her as we moved away from the city and towards Santa Monica, thinking about how lucky I was that Amelia had even accepted to go on a date with me. "So I should tell you now. There's this amazing sushi place here... I mean extremely fresh fish and it tastes really f*cking good."
"I love sushi," She told me what I already knew. She had mentioned it once before and it was exactly the reason we were getting it now.
“And you want to know the best part?” I questioned, glancing towards her. She nodded so I continued, “It’s far enough away from L.A. that no paparazzi will bother us tonight. No pesky questions. Just us, to get to know each other.”
She grinned. “Sounds… amazing.”
I nodded, keeping my eyes open for the parking lot of the restaurant that should be coming up on my right. "I didn't think we really wanted to be bombarded by cameras all night. I understand it's part of the job, but sometimes it can get to be a bit much."
"I know. Plus, it's not exactly like both of us are under the radar right now with a new movie in the works."
I pulled into the restaurant parking lot, coming to a stop at the valet and turning towards Amelia as I unbuckled my seat belt. "You took the words right out of my mouth... are you ready?"
She smiled, looking completely gorgeous and making me tempted to just lean over the center console and kiss her. "Yes, I'm starving."
We both got out of the car and I handed my keys over to the valet before leading the way into the restaurant. I gave the hostess my name and she led us straight to the table of the fairly packed restaurant. Despite us being far enough away for any paparazzi to be bothering us, I'm sure that someone in the place would recognize us and it would get out, but I didn't really care about any of that that. All I really wanted was to be able to get to know Amelia without any frustrating distractions, and this place would be perfect with that. Plus, their sushi was damn good.
We had both ordered our drinks as well as just several different types of sushi to share when I looked over to her, trying to pick my brain about what I really wanted to know about her. I mean, despite spending nearly every day working together lately, I still didn't know that much about her... and I really was dying to know more. Something about her just intrigued me. "So I know you love sushi, but tell me more about you."
She bit her lip and I wouldn't lie, it made it kind of hard for me to focus on what she was saying as I thought about how much I wanted to kiss her and just how soft her lips were. "I love Thai food too, oh, and some good pizza," She said jokingly, a smirk on her lips.
I laughed. "All that is very interesting, but I think maybe I want to know more about you than what kind of food you like," I said, my hand reaching out for hers across the table as I spoke.
"Really?" She bit her tongue and I nodded. "Can I be completely honest with you?" She asked, taking a deep breath and kind of making me nervous as to what she was going to say, but I didn't show it.
"Yeah, of course. What is it Amelia?" I asked, leaning closer to her.
"Well, you see. I just really don't have much experience with all of this sharing... I usually use the guy for, well, sex. It's just been simple that way," She said with a shrug. "You know that whole leave them before they leave you type of thing. I blame my daddy issues."
I was definitely taken aback, mainly because I was expecting her to tell me something much worse. She had a child, she was actually married, she'd been born a man... that was what I'd expected. "That's all?" I raised my brow, smirking.
A grin slowly formed on her lips. "Well there's more, but I don't think you should hear them all right now. I have to keep some secrets."
I laughed. "Got it. So really? Not many dates?" I mean, that was kind of hard to believe when you looked at how gorgeous she was.
She shook her head. “I’ve been on dates! It just ends up with me in bed with the guy… and then I leave as quickly as possible.”
“It’s not like you killed someone Amelia," I grinned at the nervous look on her face before taking a sip of my beer.
"What if I did?" She joked, winking, "And you don't have to call me Amelia... You can call me Mills, Milly, or Mil. Whatever you feel comfortable calling me..."
"Well, Mil, you don't have to worry about it. We all have secrets, sh*t happens," I said with a shrug. I mean, I was the one who had pretended to be in a relationship with someone.
She leaned towards me, raising her brow. "And what are your secrets Mr. Harper."
I shook my head. "Nothing as interesting as you."
She intertwined her fingers with mine. “If you don’t tell me something Tom, I won’t tell you anything else," She said, biting her lip and looking so f.cking sexy.
“You’re not playing fair. I would tell you stuff, but I’m not as interesting as you," I told her seriously, a grin on my face. I would just rather hear about her.
She shook her head, smiling. “I don’t care how menial it is… Just tell me something Tom.”
I took a sip of my drink, trying to think of what to even say, but I really wasn't used to talking about myself with dates. I mean, firstly, I hadn't been on many dates in the past year, and beyond that I had usually just made the dates all about the girls. "I really don't know."
She laughed. "You don't know anything about yourself?"
Before I could answer, the waiter came back and set down all the different types of sushi, putting a grin on my face from the way her face lit up. She was so stunning. "You want to know something about me?" I asked her.
She paused, her chopsticks in hand as she looked back towards me. "What?"
"I don't know how to use chopsticks," I said, probably not what she was expecting from the way she instantly started laughing.
"Are you serious?"
I shrugged. "I just don't know how. Don't make fun of me," I said, smirking.
She just kept laughing. "I can teach you, if you want."
I shook my head. "Oh, trust me, people have tried time and time again. I just can't do it," I told her seriously, picking up a fork from the table.
She smiled. "Cute."
"Cute?! Me??"
She nodded, biting her lip. She was cute, I definitely was not. "Yes! And thank you for sharing," She said, winking before she ate a sushi roll.
"No problem. How's your food?"
She smiled, popping another piece of sushi into her mouth, nodding. "Delicious," She spoke, covering her mouth politely as she chewed, "Better than most places I've had sushi in L.A."
I nodded as I looked at that gorgeous smile on her face. "L.A. doesn't have sh*t on this place." I grinned back at her.
"I think I might make this place my regular." She grinned.
I shook my head. "You can't. Unless I'm with you. I brought you here so I have to always be with you when you come now," I said, genuinely hoping to come back here with her sometime. I hoped to spend a lot of time with her in the future, honestly.
She giggled. "Is that the rule now?" I nodded and she shrugged in response, her voice a little more serious when she spoke again than the playful tone we had been using. "Well it doesn't sound too bad. I'd like to come back with you again."
"Yeah?" I asked, not able to really resist grinning as she nodded. "Good."
I grabbed her hand and held it as she grinned, biting the tip of her tongue. "You know you're being really cheesy with me."
"I am?" I laughed, not even really realizing it, honestly.
She nodded her head. "Yeah, most guys just want to get in my pants. They don't care about sucking up." She grinned. "But its okay because I'm being equally as cheesy," She said with a laugh.
I couldn't really blame other guys for wanting to f.ck her, god knows I did... but I think she deserved a hell of a lot more than just some guy who wanted to have sex with her. "And I think that's really f.ucking cute."
She blushed, looking even cuter. "You're really flattering me Tom."
I shrugged. "I wouldn't say anything that isn't true Mill."
She bit her lips, leaning across the table to give me a soft kiss, really just teasing me because I was dying to kiss her so much more. She grinned as she pulled away, pretty much reading my mind. "I really want to kiss you more."
I smirked. "I won't say no to that," I told her, leaning in to kiss her once again.
Someone cleared their voice and I pulled back to see the waiter give us a look. "Mr. Harper, is there anything else I can get for you? Dessert?"
"Do you want dessert Mill?" I asked her with a smile.
She nodded quickly. "Tempura ice cream," She said. "I snuck a peek at the dessert menu," She told me biting down on her bottom lip.
I laughed, a smile breaking onto my face. She was so adorable. "Then I guess I'll have the same," I told the waiter, handing both of our menus to him before he walked away.
Our conversation continued on steadily as we waited and then ate the delicious fried dessert. It was actually amazing how I wanted to listen to her forever and never ceased to be intrigued by her. Amelia was right, I was being so cheesy... but I just couldn't help it. And trust me, I was never cheesy. That just wasn't me. Something about her made me act different though. It was like I wanted her to see me in the best possible light because I felt like the guy I was now wasn't even half as good as what she deserved.
After I had payed the check, we started towards the exit and I took her hand again, pretty sure I was grinning like an idiot. The date had gone more than well and I couldn't have been happier at this point. "Thanks for letting me take you out... I know I fucked up a lot by lying to you when we first met. I wouldn't have blamed you for actually never speaking to me again," I told her seriously.
"Your relationship with Cara wasn't as serious as I thought and that's why I was annoyed in the first place. And I kind of thought you were a pig, but you definitely proved me wrong tonight..."
"I hope so," I murmured, stopping as I reached my car and wrapping my arms around her waist, pressing her up against the door and setting my lips against hers. My hands ran along her perfect curves as my tongue slipped into her mouth. God, I could kiss her forever...
My lips broke apart from hers, only to roam her skin, pressing against her neck, behind her ear, along her collarbone and shoulders. I pressed soft kisses against the top of her cleavage peeking out from her dress, my thoughts far from the fact that we were standing in a parking lot. "Tom..." She moaned softly, even that barely taking me out of my trance.
"Come home with me...." I spoke against her skin, pulling back to look into her eyes before kissing her on the lips once again before she could answer. I couldn't get enough of her.
"Do you think that's the best idea?" She spoke against my lips.
I shrugged, didn't seeing what was wrong with it. "Why wouldn't it be?"
"I don't know if I can trust myself around you Tom." She bit her lip, making me want her even more.
"What would be the harm in that?" I smirked at her, a smile falling on her lips as I pulled back and kissed her forehead.
"Then come home with me. Spend the night with me."
She looked up at me. "If I come home with you, we can have sex."
I raised a brow. "Why not?"
She grinned. "I have to make you work for it."
I smirked. Of course she was a tease. "Well then what do I get out of it?"
She shrugged. “I might let you feel me up a bit, but that’s all. I can’t give it all up on the first date.”
God, I felt like we were f.cking teenagers or something. “You’re making this very hard for me Mills," I gritted out, rubbing my hands over my face.
She grinned, winking after she spoke, "I have to. I have to see how much you really want me."
Ugh, god knows that I wanted her.

Only you, only you, you know. [CLV]

[collab with @gianna♥]

I looked at the clock, which showed we had about four minutes until my aunt was supposed to show up and drop off her kids, a four year old girl and a one year old. I wasn't going to lie, I was completely nervous. Kat and I both knew we wanted to have kids, but when it came down to experience with them? Neither of us really had any. Sure, I worked with kids, but they were all mostly over the age of six, and beyond that I had nothing, just like Kat. So I had called up my aunt and asked if she was willing to drop off my cousins for a night so that we could watch them. She had graciously accepted, but now I wasn't sure. What if it went terribly, then what did we do? "Kat, hurry up and get dressed, they'll be here any minute!" I called from the living room.
"I'm dressed already... I was just making the bed," She said and I turned towards her as she came into the room.
I smiled, reaching my arms out for her to walk into. "You look... covered up," I said, smirking as I pulled her body into mine so that she was sitting on my lap on the couch.
She laughed, her hands wrapping around my neck and playing with the back of my hair. "Do you not think I look sexy?"
I smirked, kissing her lips softly. "You're always sexy baby."
"You are instead," She murmured, kissing me even harder once again. I kissed her back, sliding my tongue into her mouth and deepening the kiss even further... and then I heard the knock on our door.
I pulled back, setting my forehead against her and smiling into her gorgeous eyes. "Ready?"
"As much as I can be," She answered, sighing and getting up from my lap and starting towards the door. I stood up and followed behind her as she opened up the door. "Hi!"
My aunt smiled at her. "Hi, hi. Thank you for doing this," She said, coming in with Haylie, the one year old, on her hip and Jessa, the four year old, shuffling in behind her.
Kat smiled back. "No problem. Thank you for letting us, really. Are you going to do anything tonight?" She asked her, looking at Jessa and smiling, waving at her as she just continued to hide behind her mom. I knew from my aunt that she was shy, and probably wouldn't open up to us right away. However, I did see her peak her head out once again to look towards Kat and I smiled as Kat just grinned at her. I didn't know why I was so worried, this was going to be fine, right?
"Me and Jason are going to go out to dinner. Honestly, it's probably been four months since we've done this. So really, thank you. We'll come and pick them back up at ten, is that good for you guys?"
I nodded. "Yeah, that's perfect."
"Alright. You have my number if you need anything and I have a bag here with bottles and some toys for both of them."
"Sounds good," Kat smiled, reaching out and taking Haylie into her own arms and I grabbed the bag of things from her. My aunt said goodbye to both Jessa and Haylie before slipping out the door just as fast as she'd come in. Now what did we do?
"Now what?" Kat asked the little baby girl in her hands, who's lower lip started to tremble in that signature sign that she was about to start crying. Kat began bouncing her against her hip. "How about a movie?"
"I don't think she's going to answer you baby," I said with a small laugh, though I was really just praying that she wouldn't start to cry. That definitely wouldn't be a good start.
Kat looked to Jessa and my eyes followed, watching as my cousin looked around our apartment. "Did you bring any movies?"
"No," She spoke, almost in a whisper.
I shifted beside Kat, locking the door and smiling down at my cousin in Kat's hands who's tiny fingers were currently wrapped in her hair and pulling lightly against it. It was kind of cute, making my smile widen just a little more. "Do you like Monsters, Inc. Jessa?" I asked, looking towards her and hoping that she would. It was the only kids movie we owned.
"I've seen it twice," She told me, and I had no idea if that meant that she liked it or would be up to watching it. Didn't kids love watching movies over and over again though?
"Kat's already seen it five times," I told her, bending down to her level but she just glanced away. "Do you want to watch it again?"
"No thank you," She answered properly.
I looked up to Kat, silently begging for help but she just shrugged. "We can find a movie on TV?" She suggested.
Jessa started towards the recliner quickly, taking a seat which I just hoped was a good thing as we started towards the couch. "I like Wizards of Waverly place." She spoke as I turned on the TV and began flipping through the channels.
"Which channel is that one on?" I asked her, having no clue what the show was, let alone on which network.
"It got canceled since Selena fell in love with Justin," She told me, crossing her arms over her chest and forming a pout that told me she was not happy with the fact.
"Do you like Justin Bieber?" Kat asked with a smile, probably proud that she even knew who she was talking about.
She shook her head, "I dislike him greatly."
I knew that Jessa had probably been attending some elite upper east side preschool and was just as well versed in at least one other language as she was english, but her proper language still made me laugh a little. "Me too," I told her, though I really didn't know much about the kid. And just then, before anyone could say anything else, Haylie started to wail in Kat's arms.
Jessa looked at me as if she was completely oblivious to her little sister crying and smiled for the first time since she was here. "My mom said you play the guitar."
I looked towards Kat who looked a little terrified trying to calm down the baby who was now red faced and kicking in her arms. "Yeah, I do. Do you like the guitar?" I asked, looking back towards Jessa, watching Kat from the corner or my eye as she searched through the bag and took out a bottle. She glanced towards me and I silently questioned if she needed help or not, but she just shook her head, instead nodding back towards Jessa who was looking at me with a look that if I wasn't wrong, was actually admiration.
"Can you play for me, please?" She asked softly, completely surprising me. Whether that was because her little sister was still crying and she didn't appear to care, or that she was actually having a completely normal conversation with me, I really didn't know.
"Um... sure. Let me just go get my guitar," I told her, shutting off the television and standing up. Before I made my into the bedroom where my guitar was, I stopped and stood next to Kat, who was trying to get Haylie to drink from her bottle but she just kept pushing it away. "Do you want help?"
She shook her head. "No... I got it," She paused before adding, "I think."
I smiled at her as she tried to calm Haylie down any way she really could. "Okay. Jessa wants me to play the guitar for her," I said and Kat raised her brow, seeming just as surprised as me. "Maybe it'll help with Haylie," I told her, not even sure if Kat heard me as Haylie tried to wriggle free from her arms, seeming to stop crying a little but only for a few seconds before she started screaming once again. I felt helpless and didn't know what to do, so I just started towards the bedroom to get my guitar, where Haylie's cries were a lot quieter. I took my case and set it on the bed, opening it and taking my guitar out. I took out a pick and slipped it into my pocket before closing the case and putting it back. As I made my way into the living room once again I realized that it was nearly silent. I glanced at Kat, who was now watching both Haylie and Jessa sitting on the floor, eating from a bag of some type of baby cookies. Kat glanced towards me, a relieved look on her face as I came and sat next to her. "How'd you get her to quiet down?"
"Jessa helped me, right?" She said, looking towards the four year old who's eyes were peeled to my guitar.
She glanced towards Kat for brief second, nodding. "My mom always gives Haylie these when she won't stop crying. They're really good, would you like one?" She asked me, holding out one of the really tiny cookies as her sister babbled beside her, now paying less attention to the snack and more to the little toy that was also out now.
I shook my head and smiled, my hand resting on Kat's leg. "No thanks."
"Katherine, would you like a cookie?" She asked, still completely polite even if she did seem more comfortable now.
"You can call me Kat, cutie." Kat grinned as a blush begin to creep up Jessa's cheeks. "And no thank. I'm fine."
"Okay Kat," She said before looking to me, blushing even more and from the way her eyes were locked on my guitar, I was pretty sure I already knew what she was going to ask. "Will you play a song for me please?"
I grinned, unfortunately moving my hand from Kat's leg to adjust the guitar against my lap, pulling the pick out. "Do you have a favorite song?" I asked her, hoping she wouldn't list something that I had never even heard before.
"Mommy likes The Beatles," She told me with a small smile, pulling her knees up to her chest and resting her chin against them, hugging her tiny legs. I swear, she couldn't have looked more adorable.
I quirked my brow, surprised by her choice but kind of thankful that she'd at least given me something I was familiar with. I nodded. "Any requests?"
She pursed her lips together, thinking before she glanced to her sister and grinned. "Haylie wants you to play 'All My Loving."
Both Kat and I's eyes shifted towards the little baby, her legs stretched out in front of her and one of the cookies crushed beside her. I smiled, beginning to move my fingers slowly against the guitar as I began playing the song. Immediately, Haylie started clapping along, completely off beat but so cute as she rolled onto her back. "She seems to like it," Kat murmured beside me, picking up the girl and setting her back against her lap. My eyes followed her as she looked at me wide-eyed and clapped her hands against Kat's thighs, moving to the music.
"Haylie likes it," Jessa spoke up and I look towards her, grinning at her and singing the chorus, which made her cheeks turn bright pink.
I finally slowed down before coming to a stop, looking towards the four year old for approval. "Did you like it?"
"I did." She nodded just as her sister squealed loudly.
"You have a fan." Kat smirked at me, nuzzling her neck and causing her to giggle loudly.
"Not my first," I answered with a cocky grin.
She raised a brow, pulling her head back and biting down on her lip, giving me the urge to kiss her. "You better be talking about me."
"You? God no. I'm talking about all my other wives," I teased her, smirking as watched Jessa from the corner of my eye as she reached for the remote and turned on the TV, seeming to figure it out herself.
Kat bit back a grin, rolling her eyes. "All your other wives, huh?"
I just smiled, leaning forward and finally pressing a kiss against her lips but it was far too quick and soft for me. "You look good with her," I said when I pulled back, nodding towards her with Haylie in her arms. I saw Jessa enthralled in some show as the recliner seemed to eat her up she was so tiny in comparison, making me smile yet again as I looked back towards Kat.
"You think?" She grinned, turning Haylie around and standing her up on her legs to look at her, making a face and making her giggle.
"Baba," Haylie nearly screeched, before repeating it once again, louder and then seeming to set her sights on it moments later because she was immediately squirming from Kat's hands, trying to get to the ground where the bottle was sitting.
Kat let her go, setting her down on the floor where she grabbed it and popped it right into her mouth. Me and Kat both watched her intently before I turned to Jessa. "Do you need anything?" I asked her.
She looked towards both me and Kat from her spot. "Phineas and Ferb is on," She told us with a smile, which I guess meant that it was a good thing. Honestly, I didn't even know what that was.
I looked towards Kat as if to say "now what?" since both of the kids seemed perfectly happy doing their own thing. Jessa was watching TV and Haylie had now abandoned her bottle for some of the toys her mom had packed. Kat just shrugged, moving closer towards me on the couch and I slipped my arm around her small waist. She smiled at me. "We're not too bad at this."
I nodded, though I really wasn't surprised. I knew she would be a natural. "You're perfect," I told her as I pressed a kiss against the top of her head. Just then, a disgusting smell filled the room and me and Kat both pulled back and looked at each other, knowing exactly what the smell was. Kat instantly opened her mouth to object when I cut her off. "I'll change her diaper."
Kat raised her brow, clearly surprised by me offering. But I'd have to do it sometime, right? "Go ahead. I certainly won't stop you." She just smirked.
"How did I know that you wouldn't have any objections?" I grinned, standing up and stretching as I felt her eyes on my body.
"Haylie made a stinky!!!" Jessa exclaimed as the horrible smell reached her. I looked to her where she was cupping her hand over her nose, making me which I could do the very same as I knelt over the baby, taking her onesie off.
"You're going to need a new diaper for her," Kat told me as she moved towards the bag that my aunt had given us, my hands peeling back the sides of the diaper and regretting offering to do it, honestly.
Kat set it beside me as I tried not to look at the stuff actually in the diaper. "Where are the baby wipes?" I questioned, the smell becoming even stronger.
"Here." Kat handed me the wipes to me and I took Haylie's ankles, pulling her feet from where she was playing with her toes and trying to clean her without really thinking about what I was doing as I heard Kat talk beside me again. "I think you'll need a few more of those baby wipes."
I held out the dirty one away from me, glancing towards her after realizing that I didn't really have any place to put it. "Will you throw this away?"
"No," She said back, looking disgusted at almost just the thought of it, and she wasn't even the one down here having to change the diaper.
"Well I can't just hold it," I said firmly. "Or set it down on the ground."
Kat took off towards the kitchen before coming back with an empty plastic bag, holding it open for me as I discarded the wipe.
"I can't breath!" Jessa exclaimed in a muffled tone, probably still covering her face, which kind of made me smile, though I wouldn't really say I was exactly happy now considering how terrible it still smelt.
Kat set the bag beside me as I grabbed yet another wipe as I continued to clean up Haylie. "I'll fix that," She said, heading off down the hallway as I finished cleaning Haylie. I put on the new clean diaper before taking the dirty one and closing it back up, putting it in the plastic bag along with the wipes, watching my wife from the corner of my eye as she sprayed the air around Jessa first and then me and the baby with her perfume. After, she reached for the plastic bag. "This diaper weighs a ton," She said seriously. "And how do you know how to put a diaper on a baby?"
I shrugged as I put back on Haylie's onesie, buttoning it back up as I turned to Kat. "I don't know. I just did it," I said honestly. As far as I knew this had been my first time changing a diaper, but I had just kind of figured it out. I set Haylie on her feet again and smiled at her. "All done!"
She giggled as I tickled her softly, trying to repeat my words but most of it just being a jumble of sounds, which was really just even cuter. It definitely wasn't easy to watch kids, but so far, I liked it. "Jessa, when does your sister usually go to bed?" I heard Kat ask and I glanced towards the clock, realizing that it was eight, which for a baby I was pretty sure was late.
I looked back towards the four year old as she shrugged. "I think around now. I go to bed at nine but my mom said I can stay up late and wait for her tonight," She said with a huge grin, like it was the best thing that could have happened to her. I remember being younger and being allowed to stay up had been so exciting though and feeling the same way as her.
I glanced towards Kat. "We can put her down in our room?" I suggested, it coming out more as a question.
She looked into the bag, which had seemed so small when my aunt handed it over to us but which I now realized was packed with a bunch of stuff. She pulled out a bottle, a small blanket, and a tiny bear. "Yeah, I guess so," She answered, seeming just as unsure as me. I glanced towards Jessa to make sure she was okay before picking up Haylie and walking towards our room with her. I set the little one girl on our bed and she walked right towards the middle on her own before plopping down and looking up at us, making both of us laugh. "She's so cute," Kat murmured, handing her the bottle which she popped right into her mouth.
"Almost as cute as you." I smirked, watching as Kat got her set up in the bed and Haylie's eyes began to get heavier and she looked sleepy.
"I think she might be cuter." Kat shook her head, watching Haylie as she snuggled up in her blanket, closing her eyes and turning away from us.
I reached out and grabbed Kat's waist, pulling her body into mine and kissing her softly. "That's impossible," I murmured, setting my forehead against hers and smiling at her.
"This is fun," Kat said, smiling back at me and looking so gorgeous. I swear, I loved her more every second.
I nodded. "It is. Do you think you could do it every day though?" I asked, knowing that we were both thinking the same thing. Unsaid, this was kind of a test on whether or not we were going to be able to be parents.
"If I had you with me..."
"Well I'm not going anywhere," I told her, kissing her once again.
"Then I think we should start making babies right when they get picked up." Kat murmured, a smirk on her lips.
I grinned, hearing Haylie talking to herself from the bed and reminding me that we weren't alone and I couldn't go and f.ck her right now. Ugh. "I really like the sound of that."
